Nissan has expanded its worldwide recall of Altima and Maxima models to 59,000 units due to possible fuel leaks.
The recall affects 2013 to 2016 model-year Altima cars and 2016 model-year Maxima cars, as well as 2014-2016 Teana models sold in Russia. All are fitted with V6 engines.
Nissan stated that fuel leaks could originate from a seal between the fuel tank and the fuel sending unit, which could cause a fire in the event of a crash.
The company said that no reports of fires and injuries have been reported and that the possible leak was discovered during tests.
