Dow Jones reports that Nissan Motor Co.’s joint venture in China with Dongfeng Motor Corp. is considering exporting trucks to take advantage of its cost-competitiveness. The venture, called Dongfeng Motor Co., currently exports trucks to Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and other Asian countries only at the request of its customers.

The $2 billion joint venture – which includes the biggest single foreign investment in an auto joint venture in China – was set up in June.


“We’ll consider exporting mainly to these regions,” Dongfeng Motor Co.’s President Katsumi Nakamura said, according to Dow Jones.
