The Renault-Nissan alliance’s latest zero emission vehicles partnership has been formed with the state government of Victoria in Australia.

The two organisations signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) under which representatives of Victoria and Nissan will identify potential areas of cooperation in promoting the use of ZEVs in the state.
Dan Thompson, Nissan Australia CEO, said: “Technology for zero emissions mobility is a reality and we are prepared to pro-actively explore ways to bringing this technology to the market with collaboration from the government.“
He said the automaker would have the new Leaf EV revealed in Tokyo on Sunday on sale in Australia by 2012.
“The Victorian government is looking at the benefits of introducing and expanding electric vehicle technology for our state,” environment and climate change minister Gavin Jennings said.
