Nissan’s new method has already been adopted for the European market Almera (a relatively basic model for the European market built in Britain) and the Bluebird Sylphy (a Japan-built luxury model for the domestic market).

Both models have a number of shared components, including platform, roofs, bonnets and doors but different bumpers and front fenders are used to create a variety of appearances.

Different engines and interior designs are used to produce various types and trim levels for the different markets.

Nissan now plans to adopt the same body for the next Sunny model to be introduced in Thailand. Using this new development method Nissan plans to reduce costs in order to strengthen its competitiveness.
