Nippon Seiki is already one of the world’s largest HUD manufacturers with
annual sales of 25,000 units but, after GM starts production of the two new
models, annual HUD output should reach 110,000 units in 2003.

The HUD option has proved popular with Corvette buyers and 90% specify it,
Nippon Seiki said.

By 2003, the Japanese company will change its displays from the present single-colour
VFD type to use LCD dots. A year later, full-colour LCD dot HUDs will be introduced.
