NHK Spring has signed an agreement to establish a company to manufacture and sell automotive seats in India with local parts makers Krishna Group and PSA Group’s Faurecia.

NHK F Krishna India Automotive Seating, owned 51% by the Japanese supplier, is scheduled to start production in December in Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, Kyodo News reported.

The automotive seat company will be the NHK Spring’s third Indian unit. It has been making suspension and precision springs at its two existing operations on the subcontinent.
