Japan: Mitsubishi to recall a further 50,000 vehicles – sources
Mitsubishi Motors Corp. is to recall an additional 50,000 vehicles for free repair, according to Jiji Press quoting informed sources Thursday (17/8/00).
The report says that the car maker is also expected to announce results of an internal probe into an alleged cover-up of car defects alongside executive pay cuts, to include President Katsuhiko Kawasoe, possibly on Tuesday (22/8/00).

This new recall comes in the wake of damaging revelations of the cover-up by several divisions of Mitsubishi Motors that has already seen it recall 530,000 cars.
