The company sold 314,417 units in 2000 – a rise of 20.3 per cent from 1999
– a record level for the second consecutive year. Sales of all models were strong
– especially those of the Montero Sports SUV and the U.S.-built Galant sedan.

Mitsubishi aims to achieve 330,000 sales in 2001 and will expand its line-up
to include the Lancer Cedia sedan this year and the ASX SUV in 2002. Joint development

Officials have said, however, that they expect both brands to continue to sell
through their own networks.
