The 1.5-litre petrol-powered model line is about 300mm longer than the standard Colt, providing a more spacious luggage compartment, a power tailgate, one-step folding seats; and a so-called ‘versatile cargo floor’.
Colt Plus models have two new engines. The Ralliart performance model uses a 1.5-litre intercooler-turbocharged engine while all other trim levels are powered by a new lightweight 1.5-litre unit with aluminium cylinder block made in Europe by MDC Power GmbH.
Both engines are mated to Mitsubishi’s INVECS-III continuously variable transmission (CVT). Buyers are offered a choice of two-or four-wheel drive, bench or bucket seats and dash or floor mounted gear shift levers.
