Mitsubishi Motors Corporation said on Monday it had started selling new vehicles in Myanmar several months after it began service operations.
MMC established a service shop in Yangon in May 2013 and began after-sales service of used MMC-brand vehicles already in the country. Sales of new vehicles have begun through a local company.
Following the Myanmar government’s recent revision of taxes on pickup trucks and loosening of restrictions on imports, MMC initially will import the Thai-made L200 pickup truck. It plans to expand the range in parallel with establishing a network of sales outlets and after-sales centres and expects rapid growth.
