All Bongo models comply with the latest regulatory vehicle noise level (2001) while the petrol powered models are certified as Japanese G-LEV (Good-Low Emission Vehicle).


Mazda will submit applications to designate the Bongo Van and Truck models as low-emission vehicles in seven prefectures and cities in the Tokyo metropolitan area and in six prefectures and cities in the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe area.


The DX, the flagship Bongo van grade, has added previously optional equipment such as power windows and remote control passenger side-view mirror as standard and all models produced from October 1 will also have a driver airbag as standard equipment.


The monthly sales target is 1,000 units.
