Mazda is targeting Japanese sales of 2,500 units a month for its new Atenza sedan, known as the Mazda6 in export markets.
The car, launched this week priced between 1.8 million yen ($US14,000) and 2.36 million yen, is offered in four-door sedan, five-door hatchback and station wagon forms with new two- and 2.3-litre engines.
