Company officials told Kyodo that Mazda will resume operations at the Ujina plant on upcoming Saturdays in view of the recovery in sales due to tax breaks and subsidies for eco-friendly cars.


Mazda resumed weekend operations at its plant in Hofu, Yamaguchi Prefecture, in July to produce all-new Axela cars, which are selling well, Kyodo reported.


Mazda will also operate the Hofu plant on the same weekends as the Ujina plant in August and September, the report added.
