Mazda Motor announced that Masamichi Kogai had been named president and CEO from 25 June, succeeding Takashi Yamanouchi who remains chairman.

Seita Kanai, formerly executive vice president in charge of promoting mono tsukuri innovation, brand enhancement and quality assurance, was named vice chairman.

Akira Marumoto, who previously headed corporate planning, profit control, product strategy, corporate brand enhancement and cost innovation, was named executive vice president of Mazda, assistant to the president, in charge of oversight of Americas operations and the corporate planning domain. 

All changes will be ratified at shareholders’ and directors’ meetings in June.
