Toyota Motor has said it will stop building the Lexus SC luxury coupe-cabriolet [also known in Japan as the Toyota Soarer] at the end of July due to sluggish sales, according to Japanese media reports.

The SC430 was launched in Japan in August 2005 as a successor to the popular Soarer when Toyota introduced its luxury Lexus brand there. Lexus, launched in 1989 in the US, had previously been an export-only brand.
