Kyotokyukou Bus has taken delivery of five long-range battery electric buses from BYD.
The buses will be operated in the former Japanese capital of Kyoto.

“it’s a milestone for Kyoto’s public transportation to operate pure electric buses,” said Kyoto Ministry of Transportation director, Sakabe Mitsuo.
“We will do more to improve environment quality.”
BYD’s pure-electric bus uses technologies such as iron-phosphate batteries, in-wheel hub motors and a regenerative braking system.
BYD maintains the bus can drive for more than 250km in heavy city traffic on a single charge.
