Sales of new imported vehicles, including those made by Japanese automakers overseas, declined 7.1% in November from a year earlier to 20,469 units for the fourth consecutive month of decrease, an industry group said.

Of the total, non-Japanese carmakers accounted for 19,345 units, down 5.3%, the Japan Automobile Importers Association told Kyodo News.
New imported vehicle sales between January and November this year fell 2.1% to 235,486 units, including 220,934 units made by non-Japanese automakers which were down 0.7%.
In November, Volkswagen remained the top seller among imported vehicles in Japan for two months in a row, with sales of 4,430 units, down 4.9% from a year earlier.
BMW retained second place with sales of 4,081 units, up 2.8%, followed by Mercedes-Benz at 3,758 units, up 6.2%, Kyodo News said.
