Sales of imported cars, trucks and buses in Japan rose for the second straight month as solid sales of passenger cars and trucks at foreign car makers offset weak sales of vehicles imported by Japanese automakers, the Japan Automobile Importers Association said on Wednesday, according to Marketwatch.com.

Sales of overall imported vehicles rose 0.4% to 28,455 in June, the JAIA said.
These numbers are in line with those released by the Japan Automobile Dealers Association last Friday, the report noted.
Sales of imported vehicles at foreign car makers totaled 26,855 vehicles in the month, up 4.3% from the same month last year while sales of imported vehicles produced overseas by Japanese car makers dropped 38.3% to 1,600 vehicles.
Among the top 10 automakers in the month, Ford recorded the largest percentage growth with a jump of 35.6% to 727 vehicles.
Mercedes-Benz was second with a leap of 34.6% to 5,566 vehicles and third was Audi with a rise of 21.2% to 1,739 vehicles. The Marketwatch.com report said.
