Denso Corporation and Robert Bosch have chosen Wroclaw, Poland (also home to a Toyota engine plant) for a 50-50 joint venture to develop and make diesel particulate filters, based on an agreement first announced last October.

Authorities have now approved plans for the new joint venture named Advanced Diesel Particulate Filters (ADIF), the two component makers said on Monday.
“The objective is to jointly manufacture highly efficient and cost-effective diesel particulate filters using cordierite ceramics from 2009. Each company will then market the filters independently,” Denso and Bosch said.
In the first stage, a branch office for the joint venture will be established in Kariya, Japan, to begin filter development and production preparation.
The joint venture, with initial equity of EUR8m, will start planning the engineering and manufacturing facility. The JV will be headed by two directors – Masakazu Tanaka from Denso and Bosch’s Teruo Komori.
