A full order book for car makers has prompted Denso to increase Japanese output 9% to 5 million units. That will increase worldwide production to 13 million units, up 19% from forecasts for the current fiscal year, the newspaper said.

The company is already processing a large order for 350,000 units a year from Volkswagen, the online report said.

Denso is shooting for a global share of the automotive air conditioning market of 30% in fiscal 2005-2006, up from a planned 28% this year, the report added.
