Daihatsu Motor Comp. announced (5/7/00) that is to recall 24,031 of its vehicles with possible electrical problems.
Four mini-vehicles are covered by the recall which were manufactured in Japan around the end of October 1999 and May 2000: the Mira, Naked, Move and the Opti.

Concerns surrounding a short in the electrical wiring system that could result in engine failure have prompted the recall said to be costing the company Y200 million, according to a Daihatsu spokesman.
