Daihatsu Motor Kyushu, a subsidiary of Daihatsu Motor Company, is to lift the capacity of its Kurume plant in Japan from the current 216,000 mini-vehicle engines per year to 324,000.

The four-year old powertrain plant, which also makes parts for CVTs, will have an extra JPY7bn (GBP55.9m) invested in it and become a two-shift/two line operation.
