Japan’s leading vehicle importer, Cornes Motors, is to start selling Lamborghini sports cars from next month anticipating higher demand as consumer spending rebounds.
Cornes will add Lamborghini to its current portfolio of high-end imports: Ferrari, Maserati, Rolls-Royce and Bentley which are sold through eight dealers in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.

The importer is targeting sales of 1,200 vehicles in fiscal 2013 – up 40% from the previous year. It is anticipating rising demand from affluent consumers whose buying power has been enhanced by rising stock prices.
Japanese sales of foreign vehicles rose 10% year on year to 245,679 units in fiscal 2012, increasing for the third year in a row, mainly volume brands, although sales of Ferraris rose 45.7% and Maserati jumped 23.7%.
