Clarion says it will supply Porsche with an all-surround view overhead camera system for its Panamera four-door sports sedan model range.
This is the first time Clarion and the German automaker have collaborated to develop a camera system for Porsche vehicles, with the product available to Panamera buyers as a factory-installed option from model year 2014.
Clarion and Porsche say they believe the system will contribute to the overall safety of the vehicle and its occupants by eliminating blind spots and reducing the unexpected when manoeuvring.
“We are very excited to have had the opportunity to work alongside Porsche’s talented team of engineers who, like our engineers, are committed to designing and developing cutting edge technologies that assist drivers in critical times including parallel parking, manoeuvring in parking lots, driving on narrow streets and many other instances,” said a Clarion statement.
