Germany’s Brose Group and Japan’s Shiroki Corporation are to jointly develop window regulators, door systems and seat adjusters for vehicle platforms which will be produced in both Japan and Europe.

Both companies have also agreed a worldwide manufacturing strategy which will include their existing locations. The companies plan to acquire orders and develop products in joint project groups by exchanging existing products in each partner’s markets, exchanging personnel and know-how and supplying each other with products and components.

A joint venture company is to be set up in Japan with each partner having a share of 50%. This may be followed by other joint ventures in Europe and other expanding markets.

The Brose Group makes adjustment systems for vehicle windows, doors and seats and has 5,000 employees in 15 locations in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa.

Shiroki Corporation employs 2,000 making seat recliners and adjusters, window regulators, door frames and other components at 10 locations in Japan, Vietnam and the United States.
