Japan’s leading tyre manufacturer, Bridgestone, has rebuilt its fire-damaged Tochigi plant and will resume operations on July 15, according to JCN Network.
The Tochigi plant, located north of Tokyo, was heavily damaged by a fire in September 2003, which was reportedly caused by flying sparks during the rubber-mixing process. The fire continued for two days, and burned more than 160,000 tyres, the report noted.
