The company plans to invest about 3.3 billion yen, with production scheduled to begin in the first half of 2011.


Capacity is seen rising to 400 units per day by the second half of 2012.


For the new types of tyres, Bridgestone plans to expand its operations at the plant in Medhya Pradesh, central India.


The Bridgestone India plant currently manufactures tyres for passenger cars and light trucks, producing 12,500 units per day.
