The
head of Suzuki Motor’s Brazilian operation was kidnapped near Sao Paulo last Sunday,
Kyoto News reported, citing Japan’s foreign ministry.

Kiyoshige Ishii was released a day later after a 3.5 million yen ($US29,500)
ransom was reportedly paid.

Quoting ministry officials, Kyoto News said that Ishii was kidnapped by three
men while on his way home from a golf club outside Sao Paulo.
