Asahi Kasei E-materials has started construction of a new plant for production of Sunfort dry film photo-resist (dry film) in Changshu, Jiangsu, China.

The new plant will have a production capacity of 120 million square metres per year with start-up scheduled for September 2013.

Dry film is used to form circuit patterns on printed wiring boards used in PCs and tablet PCs, mobile phones, smart phones and automotive electronics.

Asahi Kasei E-materials is a supplier of dry film in Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea and South East Asia. Currently, Asahi Kasei E-materials has two production bases for dry film master rolls, in Fuji, Shizuoka, Japan, and Suzhou, Jiangsu, China.

The new subsidiary in Changshu will serve as a base for additional expansions of dry film capacity, as well as for the manufacture and sale of other products of Asahi Kasei E-materials.
