Pininfarina’s board of directors has elected Paolo Pininfarina as its new chairman, replacing Andrea Pininfarina who died in a traffic accident on 7 August.

The board also named Lorenza Pininfarina provisional deputy chairperson and appointed chief operating officer Silvio Angori and chief financial officer Gianfranco Albertini board members.


Paolo Pininfarina will now head the group’s design operations and Pininfarina Extra while Lorenza Pininfarina heads group communications.


New chairman Paolo Pininfarina said in a statement: “As a strong sign of a continuity that dates back 75 years, our family has assumed full, direct responsibility.”


He added he would ensure the development plan developed by his late brother was implemented ”with the goal of strengthening every [part] of our company”.
