Official transport ministry data for July was expected late on Monday.
“In July the car market will be a disaster with registrations plunging 26%,” Filippo Pavan Bernacchi, chairman of Federauto was quoted as saying by la Repubblica, Reuters reported.
Citing Federauto, Corriere della Sera said excluding cars bought by car dealers to meet targets, July car sales should have fallen even more, 30%, with Fiat down 35%.
