Fiat has everything it needs to relaunch the Alfa Romeo brand, said chief executive Sergio Marchionne.
The launch of new Alfa models starting later this year has been flagged by Marchionne as a key part of the automaker’s strategy to boost sales of higher-margin premium models. Without revealing much, the CEO said the relaunch starts with the 4C sports car in the US and Europe in the fourth quarter of this year.

Fiat is also developing a new Alfa roadster in a joint project with Mazda based on the MX-5 platform.
The automaker hopes to build on Alfa’s 103 year history to bring in new buyers for its revamped compact cars and the addition of seven new models by 2016.
