Mitsubishi Motors Europe’s (MME) Italian distributor, MM Automobili Italia (MMAI) has delivered of 23 i-MIEV electric cars to the Carabinieri, Italy’s military police force.

The automaker has previously sold i-MiEVs to police forces in Japan (Kanagawa Prefecture), Hong Kong, Spain and the UK.

The Italian i-MIEVs in full Carabinieri livery, will enter service in the historic centers of large cities, in islands as well as in the zero-emission area of the 2015 Expo in Milan.

Since launch at the end of 2010, 5,590 i-MiEVs have been sold in Europe to the end of June 2014, MME said.
