Toyota Motor announced it will begin exporting its Agya low-cost green car (LCGC) from Indonesia to the Philippines at the end of February 2014.

The car, along with the Daihatsu version Ayla, is produced by PT Astra Daihatsu Motor in Jakarta and is fitted with a 1.0L petrol engine, giving it a fuel consumption of less than 20km/litre. Toyota plans to export at an initial 500 units per month to the Philippines.

In Indonesia, the car retails at between IDR 100m-120m (US$8,200-9,840). Daihatsu Executive Vice President Tatsuya Kaneko said: “We are confident that Philippine consumers will be satisfied with this environment-friendly and affordable compact car”.
