The slower market decline in September compared with previous months reflects an moderate lift from the Indonesia International Auto Show, which was staged in August this year rather than in September last year.

Gaikindo deputy chairman Jongkie Sugiarto told local reporters that he hopes September’s volumes will be sustained for the remainder of the year. The association forecasts full-year sales of between 950,000-1,000,000 units.
