Malaysia’s largest vehicle manufacturer, Perodua, expects full-year sales to rise by 3% to a new record of 194,000 units in 2013, from 189,000 units in 2012, provided that the recent growth momentum continues.
The company’s sales in the first four months of the year increased by 9% to 64,400 units, despite the anticipation among consumers of the government’s new National Automotive Policy, which is expected to reduce car prices through tax cuts.

In April, the company’s sales increased by almost 34% to 17,700 units, from 14,200 units a year earlier.
