Mitsubishi may spend up to US$1bn on a new car plant in Indonesia, media reports said.
Press Trust of India cited the Jakarta Post as a source of its report.
However, a company spokesman said the plant cost was incorrect.
He added: “We are still considering [investing in a new plant] in a positive manner.”
