Car sales in Indonesia should be boosted this year by the economic upturn of the past few months, Indonesian industrialists have said.
Chairman of the Indonesian automotive industry association [Gaikindo], Bambang Trisulo said that barring significant economic and non-economic hurdles in the rest of the year the sales target of 260,000 would be achieved.

Last year, car sales on the domestic market totaled only around 90,000 units, up from 58,000 in 1998.
