Honda has unveiled a new compact car to be sold exclusively in Indonesia from November that meets the country’s tax exemption requirements for low-cost, green cars.
The Brio Satya will be manufactured in Indonesia with around 85% local content, Kyodo News reported.
In three variants, the car will be offered at retail prices ranging from 106m rupiahs (about JPY930,000) to 117m rupiahs.
Japanese automakers are keen on developing environmentally friendly models that will qualify for Indonesia’s tax break regulation. Daihatsu started selling a low-price compact car earlier this week.
