INDONESIA: Astra International to buy BMW distributor?
Indonesia's biggest vehicle assembler, Astra International, is aiming to become the sole owner of Tjahja Sakti, BMW's exclusive agent which handles imports, CKD assembly and sales in the country. T.P. Rachmat, Astra president, said that the company wants to buy the remaining 50 percent of shares of PT Tjahja. He expects the deal to be finalised before the end of March.
