Toyota Kirloskar Motors’ deputy MD and COO (marketing and sales) Sandeep Singh told the Economic Times, “We will assemble the hybrid Camry at the Bangalore facility.”
The company already sells the Prius hybrid in India, and around 175 units of the car have been sold since its launch in January 2010. It costs from INR3.14m (ex-Delhi).
Auto industry analysts believe incentives could play a role in promoting hybrid models.
