Toyota is planning to introduce its Lexus premium brand to the Indian market by 2017, according to a Nikkei report.

The report said that the brand will start with three brands in big cities (likely Delhi and Mumbai included) with models imported from Japan.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Toyota’s India JV, is working on initial retail outlets as part of the strategy, Nikkei said.

Adding India would mean that Lexus is available in all four BRIC markets.
