Toyota Kirloskar is the latest Indian vehicle manufacturer to announce price rises in response to the fall in the value of the rupee currency.

It has announced an increase in the prices of its key models, effective 21 September. The price increase of the Etios, Etios Liva, Innova and Corolla Altis will be up to 1.50%.

The range of price increase for each product is:

  • Etios- INR4,000 (US$63.2) to INR8,000
  • Etios Liva – INR4,500 to INR8,600
  • Innova – INR7,000 to INR11,000
  • Corolla Altis – INR11,000 to INR24,000

The company said that “due to inflation, falling rupee and increase in the cost of materials, the company was forced to pass on the increase in cost, to the customers”.
