Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) plans to sell spare parts online, as part of its initiative to improve customer satisfaction.

The pilot project is expected to be launched in Bengaluru, Karnataka, in the week of 15 August.

Shekar Viswanathan, TKM vice-chairman and whole time director, said, “We have a total of 1m customers in India and our primary aim is to make them satisfied and loyal. Our new initiative of making spare parts available online is aimed at making it easier for them.”

Depending on the response the company receives in Bengaluru, he said “we will expand in other metros in 2016. After that we will assess how we go forward on the basis of response in other metros”.

Under the programme, the company will offer more than 400 frequently changed spare parts online. These parts include wipers, oil filters, fan belts as well as 30 accessories, ETAuto.com reported citing PTI.

Viswanathan added, “We are offering another platform, specially to those tech savvy ones, who would like to fix small parts through a local workshop and not come all the way to an authorised service station but with genuine Toyota spare parts.”
