Honda is planning to build a sedan version of its Brio small hatchback at the two plants which currently manufacture it.

According to the Economic Times, the Brio sedan will enter production ‘by the fourth quarter of 2013’. The Indian financial daily further notes that the car will be built in Thailand first.

The Brio hatchback is manufactured in Thailand at the Ayutthaya plant, and in India at Honda Siel’s Greater Noida facility in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Earlier this month, P.T. Honda Prospect Motor began construction of a second plant at Karawang in the Indonesian province of West Java: it is scheduled to begin building the Brio and other Honda models from 2014.
