Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company (Telco) is in talks with a high-level team from Renault exploring the possibility of sourcing engines from Renault, according to a report in Business Standard.

The report suggests that Tata Engineering is planning to source Renault engines for its existing range of utility vehicles, in addition to future models that may be launched on the Indica platform.

A Tata Engineering spokesperson has confirmed that senior company officials will be holding talks with the Renault team.


The report adds that senior Tata Engineering officials have already said the group wants to launch a three-box sedan based on the Indica platform, in addition to the Tata Magna, a mid-sized car, by the end of next year.
