Such a move would be banked on a proliferation of new car demand to lower income households that may consider small cars.
Suzuki has said it will begin making a new small model in India in 2008 for the Indian market and also for Europe. Sizeable exports to Russia could help to improve the competitiveness of Suzuki’s Indian operation.
Small cars from India would also complement Suzuki’s plans to make SUVs in Russia.
