Returning 400 acres taken for the shuttered Singur Tata Nano plant to unwilling farmers will be one of top objectives of the new government in Bengal, chief minister Mamata Banerjee has said.

“We have discussed some important issues in our first cabinet meeting today. We have decided to handover 400 acres from the Tata Motors project to the unwilling farmers,” she was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times. “We will do it as per the law. The Tatas can do their industry on 600 acres if they are interested to do so,” she added.
