Skoda India on Monday said it would raise prices by INR10,000 to INR25,000 ($US230-580) from 1 August.
“The price hike has been necessitated by a variety of cost push factors like surge in freight costs and in prices raw materials. The company has made efforts to absorb maximum costs to keep the price rise marginal so that impact to our customers is minimised,” Skoda India sales and marketing chief Thomas Kuehl said in a statement.
