It is reported that Rover will buy 100,000 cars from Tata Motors over five years under an agreement signed last December.
“In order to effectively meet market requirements of the United Kingdom we felt the need to introduce a small car which would target the city car sector,” Kevin Howe, chief executive of MG Rover, said in a statement.
The first shipment from Tata Motors would have 700 cars, a Rover official reportedly said.
